Local 4th of July Fun!

Here is a list of the many 4th of July events and fireworks displays happening on and around the 4th. Have a safe and fun holiday!

JULY 3RD

Moorpark
  • 3rd of July Fireworks Extravaganza...The City of Moorpark is pleased to announce the annual Fireworks Extravaganza to be held on Friday, July 3 at the Arroyo Vista Community Park. This year’s event features 2 bands, a delicious range of food, and fun attractions from our many vendors. Begins at 4:00pm. Fireworks at 9:00pm.
JULY 4TH

Thousand Oaks
  • City of Thousand Oaks Fireworks Show...Fireworks are at 9:00 pm and can best be seen from either the Janss Marketplace rooftop or the Oaks Mall parking lots.
  • The Janss Marketplace...From 5:00 - 9:00 p.m., there will be many pre-fireworks activities including Live Music, Hula Hoop Performance and Contest, Prizes for Best '80s Style, Restaurant Specials, Hot Dog Eating Contest sponsored by Lucky’s Dog House.
  • The Oaks Mall is an official viewing location for the Thousand Oaks Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. The fantastic Fireworks show takes place on the hill behind the Hillcrest Center of the Arts in Thousand Oaks. Come for music and kids' activities starting at 6:00pm.
  • Pancake Breakfast...Borchard Community Center,  Corner of Reino and Borchard, Newbury Park, 8:00 am - 11:00 am.  Cost: $3/person.  http://www.crpd.org
  • Home Run Derby…Borchard Park Field #2, 8:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Cost: $5.00. Divisions: Men's Open 16 and Over, Women's Open 16 and Over, Men's Masters 40 and Over.
  • Senior Home Run Derby…Borchard Park, 9:00 a.m. - 11 a.m. Cost: $5.00.  Check-in onsite starts at 8:30 a.m. Men's and women's divisions plus age group categories. Register early ($5/person) at GSAC, 1385 E. Janss Road, Thousand Oaks.
  • CRPD Open Swim Afternoon…The CRPD Aquatics Division presents FREE Recreational Swim Time from 12:00 pm - 4:00 p.m. on July 4th at the Community Pool at CLU, the Newbury Park High School Pool, and the Thousand Oaks High School Pool.
  • Concert in the Park...Conejo Community Park, Dover and Hendrix Drive, 5:00 pm, FREE. FA 4th of July tradition in the Conejo Valley! Under the baton of maestro Elmer Ramsey, the 40-piece Conejo Pops Orchestra brings a program of patriotic and Americana music to life, including selections from famed composers John Philip Sousa and George M. Cohan. Song list includes such patriotic favorites as “God Bless the USA,” “Semper Fidelis,” “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” and “Stars & Stripes Forever.” This year’s concert brings a special treat for families and their little ones – songs from Disney’s “Frozen” and some super-cool activities are included in the day’s festivities. Children are encouraged to join the fun and come in costume. Please leave pets at home.
Newbury Park

  • Miller Family YMCA July 4th Family Festival, Car Show & 5k/10k Run/Walk...Celebrate July 4th with a family festival, parade, car show and 5k/10k Run/Walk at the Miller Family YMCA of Newbury Park (320 Via Las Brisas, Newbury Park). All-you-can-eat pancake breakfast ($5) from 7-11 a.m. and a classic car show at 7:00 a.m. New this year is a Kids Triathlon for ages 7 and up beginning at 8:30 a.m. Kids will be grouped by age and participate in swimming, biking and running. Free live entertainment, a kids' zone and family activities begin a 9:00 a.m. with a patriotic Fourth of July parade at 10:00 a.m. A 5k/10k for runners, walkers and strollers begins at 7:00 a.m. To register, go to http://www.active.com and type in Miller Family YMCA.
  • Stagecoach Inn Museum Old Fashioned Ice Cream Social (12:30-4:30pm)...ice cream, free museum admission and barbershop quartet.
Camarillo

  • Fireworks Show...Bring the whole family for an evening of music, games, food, jolly jumps, and fireworks.  Starts at 4:00 pm. Fireworks at 9:00. Admission $2.00 (kids 5 and under free). Free parking. Camarillo High School, 4660 Mission Oaks Blvd.
Westlake Village 8:00 am   Pancake Breakfast from Boy Scout Troop #752

10:00 am Parade begins to arrive at park. Flag Retirement Ceremony.
10:15 am Free activities, crafts, music, photo booth, popsicles, water, and patriotic performers. Hot dogs will be available for sale for $1. Breakfast tickets are $5/person or $20/family at the former Westlake Village Medical Center (4415 Lakeview Canyon Rd) on the day of the event. The parade will begin at the same location at 9:45 am. Parade participants line up at 9:30 am. The parade ends at Berniece Bennett Park. Decorate a bike, scooter, stroller, or wagon, in patriotic themes or simply line the parade route and cheer on the participants.
  • Westlake Village Fireworks Show...The Westlake Village 2nd Annual Fireworks Spectacular Show will occur over the Westlake Golf Course. The fireworks will represent the grand finale to an afternoon of family-friendly activities at the Westlake Golf Course Driving Range and Parking Lot. Food truck meal options will be available for purchase. Seating and picnicking will be available on the Westlake Golf Course Driving Range. Free and open to the public.
Simi Valley

  • 4th of July Festival and Fireworks Extravaganza...Rancho Santa Susana Park, 5005 Los Angeles Ave., Gates open at 2:00 pm, free admission, kids' fun zone, family games, craft and food booths.  Fireworks at 9:20 pm.
  • Reagan Library 4th of July Celebration...10 a.m. - 3 p.m. To celebrate our Nation’s 239th birthday, the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library is hosting a day full of family-fun activities. This year’s celebration includes patriotic concerts, family entertainment, games, crafts, and more. All outdoor activities are free; admission rates apply to museum exhibits.
Calabasas

  • Fireworks Spectacular...At Calabasas High School Football Field  (22855 W. Mulholland Hwy.,). Gates open at 5:00 pm. Fireworks at 9:00 pm. The family-oriented, fun-filled event will feature Family Fun Zone hosted by “Who’s That DJ?”! Zone including games and prizes, inflatables, arts and crafts, temporary tattoos, stilt walkers, balloons and more! Live musical dance party with Air Play plus additional patriotic surprises! Food available for sale on site: barbequed meats, sausages, roasted corn, snow cones and more. No alcohol allowed. Tickets are $10/person (kids under 2 are free).   • 37th Annual Lakeside Fun Run…7:45 am, Location: Lake behind the Tennis & Swim Center, 4 mile run, 2 mile run, 2 mile walk, 1/2 & 1/4 mile kids races.
  • Summer Splash Party Family Barbecue…at Tennis & Swim Center, 2300 Park Sorrento from 12:00p.m. - 5:30p.m. Activities include games, free swimming, tennis, BBQ.
  • Pet Show… At Greenbelt adjacent to the Tennis & Swim Center, 11:00 am, all pets welcome with contests running in several categories.
Channel Islands

  • Annual Fireworks by the Sea...8:00 am - 10:00 pm.  Fireworks are at 9:00 pm.  5K/10K Fun Run/Walk at 8:00 am; At 11:00 am, Farmers' Market, Crafter's, Live entertainment, Children's Activities. Also at 10:30 am- the 4th of July Parade. The parade is open to all patriotic entries.
Ventura

  • Ventura 4th of July Street Fair…July 4th Street Fair Events and Entertainment Line-up Ventura's popular 4th of July Street Fair, a 40-year tradition, will be held on July 4, in Ventura's Historic Downtown Cultural District, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The popular street fair showcases the handmade arts and crafts of more than 300 artisans and organizations. Enjoy savory foods and live entertainment on several stages along Main Street plus a kids zone and Pushem Pullem parade.
  • 4th of July Fireworks and Family Festival...Ventura’s 4th of July Fireworks & Picnic! Have a blast as the Rotary Club of Ventura 4th of July Fireworks and Family Picnic at Ventura College Athletic Fields! Enjoy a booming fireworks show, live music, a huge Kids’ Fun Zone, and the friendliest hometown picnic in America! Tickets go on sale in June. Gates open at 5 pm. Fireworks show begins at approximately 9 pm.

Fillmore
  • Sespe Creek Car Show…9:00 am - 3:00 pm. 300 block of Central Ave, Fillmore. There will vendors and more.
  • Fireworks...The display will be launched from Fillmore Middle School located 543 A Street in the City of Fillmore. The show is scheduled to begin at dusk (approximately 9:15pm) and last approximately 25 minutes.
  • Fillmore and Western Railway's 4th of July Firecracker Train Departs at 6:30 pm and returns after the fireworks (approx 9:45 pm). BBQ dinner included.  $22.00-$72.00.  Also daytime hour-long train rides during festival.

JULY 5TH

Agoura Hills
  • Concert in the Park and Fireworks Show...Come listen to Zoot Suit Review with fireworks at the conclusion of the show! Concert at 6:00 pm. FREE. Chumash Park, 5550 Medea Valley Dr.. Agoura Hills.
