Macaroni Kid Crafts - DIY Bubble Wands and Essential Oil Bubbles

Using Pipe Cleaners and Beads to Make Your Own Bubble Fun

May 31, 2020

Bubble blowing is a favorite activity for everyone! (Yes, it's okay to admit that even moms and dads like to get in on the fun too.) Personalize your bubble blowing experience by creating your own bubble wands at home. Experiment with shapes and sizes to extend your bubble blowing fun!

This is an easy activity for all ages. Little ones may need a little assistance shaping the wand end.

Create DIY Bubble Wands

You Will Need:

  • Pipe cleaners in various colors
  • Assorted beads
  • Bubble Solution

How To:

  1. Decide the shape you want for the top of your wand.
  2. Fold over top of pipe cleaner, twist onto itself and shape as desired. Small cookie cutters work great to help create shapes!
  3. String beads  onto bottom half of wand to create the handle.
  4. Fold the pipe cleaner over the last bead/macaroni and twist onto itself so beads do not fall off.
  5. Take your bubble wand outside with your bubble solution and watch your fun-shaped bubbles float through the air!

Create Essental Oil Bubble Solution

You Will Need:

  • 3/4 cups cold water
  • 1/4 cup dish soap (Dawn Original Formula)
  • 5 drops Vegetable Gylcerin
  • A few drops essential oils (My favorite is Strawberry Oil)
How to
  1. Pour cold water into a large bowl or bucket
  2. Add Dawn
  3. Add Vegetable Glycerin
  4. Shake out a few drops of Essential Oils into bowl
  5. Mix together and start blowing bubbles

*Make sure essentials oils are safe for children: I love peppermint, fruit flavored ones, and lavender.
