Specifically the "Ecosystems" exhibit is where you will find numerous animals from lots of different ecosystems - above ground, in the ground, and in the water.

Gibbon Conservation Center

See some incredible gibbons (I would call them monkeys and I would be wrong 😅) at this unique, world renowned facility. Reservations are required. Tours last about 1 hour.

Wildlife Learning Center

Check out the more than 20 species including: sloths, big cats, porcupines, snakes, frogs and more! Guests generally spend about 90 minutes during their visits.



Los Angeles Zoo

The LA Zoo has a wide array of animals from primates to reptiles to elephants and more. You can generally plan that your visit will last about 2-3 hours.

Santa Barbara Zoo

The Santa Barbara Zoo has large and small mammals, apes, big cats and even some barn animals. You can generally plan to be there for about 2 hours. Also, be sure to bring some cardboard so your kids can slide down the little grassy hill. 😉

Santa Anita Park - Horse Track

See the race horses up close before each race and then see them run like the wind out on the track! (Your family could even bring a bag of jelly beans to use for some casual betting on the races. 😋)

Ostrichland USA

Believe it or not, Ostrichland USA has Ostriches! 😂 ... and Emus, and during certain times of the year they even have baby chicks. If you are heading to Solvang, or the San Yanez Valley, consider stopping by and spending about 30 - 60 minutes there feeding and marveling at the majestic birds.

San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo has animals from all over the globe that creep, crawl, slither, swim, frolic and fly! Guests generally spend about 3 - 4 hours at the zoo.

San Diego Zoo - Safari Park

See giraffes, elephants, gorillas, rhinos and big cats during your visit. It generally takes about 1.5 - 2 hours to drive around the Safari Park though sometimes longer if it is a school holiday, etc.
