Everyone knows how important it is to keep your children reading through the summer months. And this year’s Summer Reading Program—with the irresistible theme of “Reading Is So-o-o-o Delicious!”—is going to be one of the tastiest we’ve ever had, full of delectable goodies and fun-filled special events designed to keep youngsters engaged in reading all summer long.
We are launching the Summer Reading Program on Monday, July 1, to coincide with the re-opening of the Simi Valley Public Library. On that date, children are invited to come to the library and get their reading logs and a big stack of books and start reading. To help us get started, we are going to have the famous Mr. Nifty Balloon Show at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.—fun for kids of all ages (adults will love it, too!).
Throughout the summer—as children fill out their reading logs and bring them in for prizes—the library will be offering a series of great summer fun programs. Come join us for these great activities:
