Aquarium of the Pacific Celebrates 13th Annual Southeast Asia Day on September 30

Live performances of traditional music and dance, as well as cultural craft demonstrations and displays, will help transform the Aquarium into an exotic destination during the 13th annual Southeast Asia Day on September 30, 2017 from 9am to 5pm at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.

Southeast Asia day celebrates the dance, music, and crafts from Cambodia, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and Myanmar transforms the Aquarium into an exotic destination for one day each year. Through this unique celebration, the Aquarium seeks to foster a stronger connection with the local Southeast Asian community. One of the most ethnically diverse cities in the nation, Long Beach is home to the largest population of Cambodians outside of Southeast Asia. Southern California also has vibrant communities from Thailand, Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia, and Myanmar. 


Visitors can experience the traditional dance and other cultural practices from these countries during the festival. Plus during the festival children can participate in arts and crafts and learn more at the Southeast Asia culture, traditions, music and dance.

  • 12:55 p.m. Vietnamese Dance – Lac-Hong Performing Arts Group
  • 2:30 p.m. Laotian Music & Dance – Hmong Association of Long Beach
  • 1:40 p.m. Thai Dance – Thai Community Arts & Cultural Center Dancers
  • 3:10 p.m. Laotian Music & Dance – Hmong Association of Long Beach
  • 4:00 p.m. Myanmar Cultural Dance – Network of Myanmar American Association
