Last week we were invited to check out a fun Holiday Kit celebrating the release of the DVD, "Mickey Mouse: Merry & Scary" and well Katherine (age 6), who is a HUGE Mickey and Minnie fan LOVED it!
The new Disney DVD which released on September 26th, is a really fun DVD featuring two holidays in one, Halloween and Christmas. The kit celebrates both holidays as well and included a Vampire Mickey Halloween Bucket and a Minnie Mouse Halloween Bucket, both made of felt and in a pumpkin shape and colors. Katherine and her dad totally loved them, especially since dad is a HUGE Disney fan too. They are supposed to glow in the dark, which we will totally be checking out on Halloween.
In addition the Kit included a super adorable Mickey and Minnie sketchbook styled Christmas Tree Ornament and we cannot wait until the holiday season to hang up, and a copy of the DVD, "Mickey Mouse: Merry & Scary."
We felt the DVD really gets you into the holiday spirit as as Mickey, Donald, and Goofy swap hair-raising Halloween stories. Then the second episode fast forwards a couple months to Donald’s first Christmas when he wants to stay with his friends and celebrate the holiday. Both were sweet stories that really have a lot of holiday spirit.
The first cartoon is titled, The Scariest Story Ever: A Mickey Mouse Halloween Spooktacular and in this story, Mickey has decorated his house with “tomb, sweet, tomb" and along with his pals Donald and Goofy, plans to tell hair-raising Halloween stories. But coming up with a scary story is never easy and so he tries to come up with a truly terrifying tale before the stroke of midnight when Halloween ends.
The second cartoon is called, Duck The Halls: A Mickey Mouse Christmas Special, and this cartoon features Donald as the star and he doesn't want to leave town and go where it is warmer, live other ducks do and instead wants to stay and celebrate his first Christmas with his friends. Mickey, is Mr.Helpful and creates the ultimate list of everything to make Donald's first Christmas great, but before the fun gets started Donald starts freezing his feathers off.
Each cartoon is about 20 minutes long and are really cute and fun. Katherine LOVED them at age 6, and they are definitely for that age group. The DVD also includes 5 bonus shorts of around 3 minutes each with Halloween type themes. You can watch the entire DVD in under hour.
