THE SUMMER READING PROGRAM GOES VIRTUAL
In light of current events, the Simi Valley Public Library (SVPL) and Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District (RSRPD) will be jointly offering a completely virtual Summer Reading Program, for all ages. This year, when you read books you earn virtual reading badges which will earn you free books from the library.
WITH VIRTUAL EVENTS ON FACEBOOK
While there won’t be in person events or programs, all scheduled summer programs and events will take place online at the Libraries Facebook Page! The Summer Reading Program will be using an online program called Bookpoints, where participants can track their reading goals and earn virtual badges for different reading themes!
2020 THEME IS DIG DEEPER
The 2020 theme is “Dig Deeper” and the library wants to encourage participants to read and do things that represent that theme, whether literally or figuratively! Learn about a new topic by doing research or read about pirates and buried treasure! This theme invites you to dig below the surface, whether that’s by exploring in nature, investigating new places and ideas, or discovering the unknown. The possibilities are endless so get creative, there are no wrong answers!
The goal is to provide our community with an outlet that will keep people entertained, motivated, and curious!
