Join Macaroni Kid at the Simi Valley Library Annual Free Family Book Festival

“Reading Gives You Super Powers!” Annual Free Family Book Festival  is on Saturday, February 8, 2020 from 10am to 1pm at the Simi Valley Library at 2969 Tapo Canyon Rd. This event is co-sponsored by the Simi Valley Public Library and Friends of the Library.

At the event Mike Voogd, owner of Ninjatoons will be presenting all the books he's illustrated along with coloring pages, prints, and presenting a Step-By-Step Lesson of How To Draw one of the characters from his books! 

FEATURING

  • Meet local children's author, Sue Ganz-Schmitt.
  • Learn about the art of animation and illustration from Mike Voogd, owner of Ninjatoons. 
  • Sharpen your own super powers through activities and crafts presented by community partners. 
  • Meet and read to gentle therapy dogs. 
  • Take selfies with cosplayers.
  • Children and teens who arrive by 10:30 a.m. will be entered in a drawing for exciting prizes.
  • Join a lively superheroes parade through the Library. 

SCHEDULE

  • 10:00 - 10:30 am- Check in and get a raffle ticket
  • 10:00 - 10:45 am- Read to a super therapy dog
  • 10:00 am - 1:00 pm- Visit each activity station and get a stamp in your passport
  • 10:50 am- Parade of heroes
  • 11:00 am- Author talk with Sue Ganz-Schmitt and raffle drawing
  • 11:45 am- Book signing with Sue Ganz-Schmitt
  • 12:00 - 12:45 pm- Read to a super therapy dog
  • 1:00 pm- Presentation from artist Michael Voogd of Ninjatoons
