A Bouquet of Roses Created By Your Kids is The Best Gift to Congratulate Someone Special

What you need:

  • red and green tempera or washable paints
  • paint brushes
  • large sheet of green construction paper (we used 11x17)
  • large sheet of white paper (slightly smaller than the construction paper, or cut about an inch off the top to allow for a border when mounted onto the green sheet)
  • glue
  • red or pink construction paper
  • scissors
  • black marker

What you'll do:
  1. Paint the palm of your child's hand with red washable paint. While wet, stamp the handprint onto the sheet of white paper (hint: it looks more like a rose bud when the fingers are kept closer together). Repeat 12 times for a dozen rose buds (or however many will fit on your page).
  2. Use paint brush and green paint to draw on the stems of the roses. Set painting aside to dry.
  3. Cut a heart shape from the red or pink construction paper. Use a black marker to write a message on the heart (have the child write it if they can, even if they just sign their name).
  4. When dry, mount the painting onto the green construction paper, leaving a border along the top and bottom.
  5. Glue the heart with your message at the bottom of the page in the center.
Once dry hang up in your home!!
